LENS WHITE GOLD RING RUBY 0.94CT AND DIAMONDS

Ruby is the noblest monocrystalline variety of aluminium oxide (Al)₂⁇₃), a mineral known as corundum, strongly allochromatic. It has a hardness of 9 in the Mohs scale.

The Mohs scale is an empirical criterion for assessing the hardness of materials. It is named after the German mineralogist Friedrich Mohs, who invented it in 1812. It takes as a reference the hardness of ten minerals numbered progressively from 1 to 10, such that each one is able to scratch the one before it and is scratched by the one after it.

Ruby is bright red, due to chromium inclusions, but can take on various shades of this color, ranging from the brightest red, also called "pigeon blood", to rosé.

The ancient Indians called it the ruby. Ratnaraj, meaning "the king of precious stones".
